Deleting your digital past for good

    make a comment

Can we really do it? I don’t have much unsightly digital past fortunately but it’d be interesting to know if we can really do it. Computerworld reports that it can actually be done. Exactly how, they didn’t manage to find out. However, there’s apparently a new industry called Online Reputation Management which can assist you in doing so.

Read the full article here on MIS Asia’s website. It’s really interesting. Maybe I should Google myself and see what turns up. Hmmmm.

Iphone has half the failure rate of Blackberry?

    make a comment

That’s according to the SquareTrade study, recently released.

    failure-rates-12-months

The study was based on the first year of usage for about 15,000 phones, mainly focusing on reported customer data on malfunctions in the phones. Apparently iphones have only about 5.6% of reported malfunctions. The study also projected the iphone failure rates for the next year on, as shown in the graph below:

    projected-iphone-malfunction-rates

Apparently, also according to the study, most of the iphone related malfunction issues were due to accidents and mis-handling. Largely due to the fact the iphone is really slippery and entirely touchscreen, with no keypad to provide some friction.

I own neither so unfortunately, I’m unable to give a better review of how accurate this study is. However, most of my colleagues use Blackberries and so far, they have few issues with it. Actually, it’s quite well-liked and popular amongst them. iphone isn’t really popular in the work senario, it being more suitable for commercial usage.

I guess, also, that Blackberry is really more sophisticated-looking. Apple iphone has the ‘cool’ factor but when it comes to corporate image, I personally think Blackberry is more suitable.

Another really non-thought-provoking post… I just wanted to share the study, and put some nice colourful images into my posts. XD
